John V. Papczynski

John V. Papczynski, 67, of Niles, Mich., died on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in his home of natural causes. Mr. Papczynski was born on Dec. 28, 1932, in South Bend, Ind. to the late John and Theresa Papczynski.

He was married on Nov. 19, 1955 in Niles to Joan Rakowski, she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Papczynski of Niles; a son, Kevin Papczynski of Niles; a sister, Jaunita (Jerry) Dix of South Bend; three brothers, Joe (Joyce) Papczynski and Jerry (Mary Ann) Papczynski, both of Niles, and Julius (Marjorie) Papczynski of Berrien Springs, Mich.; and by a granddaughter, Melissa Marie Papczynski of Niles.

Mr. Papczynski retired from the Niles Twp. Fire Dept. in 1988, he also worked for Memorial Hospital Security, South Bend, which he retired from in 1997. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Niles and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Niles. Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2000 in PiferSmith Funeral Home, 521 E. Main, Niles.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to Hospice at Home
