Bernard Stanley "Mickey" Makielski

Bernard Makielski, 47, of 20487 Brick Road, died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a foreman for 25 years with Schafer Gear Works. Born on March 21, 1933, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life. On April 1 11, 1953, in South Bend, he married Betty Klemczewski, who survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Regina Makielski of South Bend; three daughters, Mrs. Debbie Hoover of Granger, Miss Lisa Makielski and Miss Sandy Makielski, both at home: a son, Kenneth of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Joan VanWynsberghe, and a brother, Norman, both of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph II. Fey, C.S.C., pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be observed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
