Joseph J. Lacay, 52, of 61543 Locust Road, died at 4 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was the owner of the Lacay Fabrication Co. of South Bend. Born Dec. 20, 1932, in South Bend, he lived here all his life.

On July 2, 1955, in South Bend, he married Mary Ann Szczechowski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie Filley of Mishawaka and Loraine Deranek of South Bend; a son, Joseph D. of South Bend; four grandsons; two sisters, Rose Norris and Susann Lacay, both of South Bend; and his mother, Julia Lacay of South Bend.

A daughter, Delphine, died in 1976.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus Council 5521 and the Father Nieuland Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. today and a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the. funeral home. Mr.

Lacay was a member of Elks Lodge 235 of South Bend, the William Penn Club, Ave Maria Knights of Columbus Council 5521, Father Nieuland Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Columbus degree team. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
