Peter J. Marko, 60 , a retired South Bend police officer. died at 6:10 p.m. Friday, Apr 18, 1980, in Memorial Hospital a lengthy illness. He was employed as a guard for Associates Corp, North America. Born on Jan. 4. 1920 in South Bend, he here all his life.

Surviving are father, Peter Sr. of South Bend: two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Carpenter of Stewart, Fla., and Mrs. Marjorie Guilford of Mishawaka: a son. Larry of South Bend: three grandchildren: two sisters. Mrs. Marcella, Eberhart of Rockford. Ill., and Mrs. Mary Ann Lipinski, and a brother Joseph, both of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Msgr. John Sabo. pastor. will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may. call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home.

Marko was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a member of the first graduating class of Washington High School. He was a member of Lodge 36 of the Fraternal Order of Police
