Gerard Paul Deyerling
Gerard Paul Deyerling was bon Jan 25, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana to Benedict and Anna (Pendl) Deyerling. On June 1, 1946 in St. Michael's Church, North Andover, Mass., Gerry married Madeline Cashman. His children: Alesia Deyerling (Mrs Michael Monserez), Christopher Deyerling( married to Jill Lea Warford). Scott Deyerling and wife Christine, and Gary Deyerling.
Gerry attended Purdue University, where he studied mechanical engineering. He was employed by Allied Signal as a design engineer until he retired in 1986 after 44 years of service. He was instrumental in the design of the aircraft landing gear and related components. Gerry served as first lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific from 1943-1946 as a radar bombardier. He served in the 461st Bomb Squadron, 346th Bomb Group.
