Ralph Francis Dabros
RALPH FRANCIS DABROS. The body of Private. Ralph Francis Dabros, son Mary Dabros, 609 South Warren street, fatally shot in an accidental discharge of a gun on the rifle range at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, on June 12, 1942, is on the way to South Bend for funeral services to. be St. Adalbert's Roman Catholic church.
According to information received by the family at the fort, Private Dabros was shot in the stomach as he was handing a pistol to a guard. Live and dummy bullets were used on the rifle range land the pistol, which accidentally was discharged, was loaded with live bullets. Death came at 8:15 p. m. Thursday, a week after the accident.
The youth's father was killed train at the Ford street crossing of thei Grand Trunk Western railway eight vears ago. Born in South Bend Aug. 21, 1919. Private Dabros lived in South Bend all his life and was a graduate of St. Adalbert's parochial school, Washington High School and South Bend Business college.
Surviving besides the mother are three brothers, Ladislaus and Joseph Dabros, both of South Bend, and Alex Dabros, of Chicago: a sister, Miss Jean Dabros, of South Bend, and a nephew. David Lee Dabros. Private Dabros was a member of St. Joseph Young Men's society and Peter Skarga society No: 1437. Polish National Alliance of America.
