Robert L. Williams Sr.
March 31, 1939 — Dec. 30, 2004

Robert Lee Williams Sr., 65, born in Osceola, Arkansas, 1939, to the union of Tommie Williams and L.T. Wardely moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1942. He attended Washington High Schoo! and graduated in 1956.  Robert died December 30, 2004, at home after a long illness.

Robert was employed at Fefferman's Auto for 18 years and Town and Country Gates for 25 years He was a long life member of the Naptown Riders. During his active years, Robert was an avid softball player and roller-skater. Preceding him in death were his father, Tommie Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, L. T. Newsome; three brothers, Garfield (wife Chris) Hubbard of Columbia, Maryland, Doug Newsome and Michael Newsome, both of South Bend, Indiana; 16 children, Michael (Karen) Williams, Bent Williams, Michell (Clayton) Cole, Marcia Williams, Mary (Geary) Lock Sr., Robert Mira Williams Jr. Corey (Ruby) Williams, Terri Williams, Lafayette Williams, Denise (O.D.) Diggins, Kimberly Williams, Shalonda Williams, Delores Williams, Darsielle Williams, all of South Bend; and Tanyell Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, and Leigh Ann William of Brownsville, Texas; 35 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at New Salem M.B. Church, 141 South Camden Street, South Bend, Indiana. Viewing is one hour prior to services. Burial will follow the funeral services at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral has been entrusted with the arrangements.
