Robert "Bob" L. Williamson

August 15, 1934 ~ November 27, 2023 (age 89)

Robert L. "Bob" Williamson, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away peacefully in his hometown. Born on August 15, 1934, to the late Lester Williamson and Anna (Marcus) Younger.

Bob was a proud graduate of Washington High School. Bob was a U. S. Army veteran, after serving his country embarked on a 47 years career with Nipsco, where he worked diligently as a serviceman until his retirement. His dedication to his work was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to his community.

On September 7, 1957, Bob married the love of his life, Diana M. (Mullen) Williamson, in South Bend. Their loving union was blessed with a son, Daniel J. (Nancy) Williamson, also of South Bend. Bob was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. He was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Andrew J. Williamson, and his sister, Shirley.

In his leisure time, Bob was an avid golfer and fisherman. His love for the outdoors was evident in his younger years when he enjoyed camping and traveling to see different historical sites around the country. These interests allowed him to create lasting memories with his family and friends, and they will remember him for his adventurous spirit and love for life.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the entire staff at Briarcliff Health & Rehabilitation Center in South Bend for the wonderful care they gave to Robert during his time there.

In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place and no services will be held. A private inurnment will be held at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
