William Joseph Harris - Class Of 2003 VIEW PROFILE

William Joseph Harris

Mr. William Joseph Harris, a radiant soul from South Bend, Indiana, was born on December 24, 1984, and walked among us until July 9, 2023.

Known widely as William, he was a beacon of strength, kindness, and resilience in our world. His life, though brief, was filled with moments that touched the lives of many. "The purpose of life is not to be happy," Ralph Waldo Emerson once said. "It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." It is in this spirit that we remember William, a man who embodied these qualities and made a difference in his corner of the world.

William was a laborer by trade, a man of strength and determination, who found dignity and purpose in his work. He was a pillar of his community, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to fairness were an inspiration to all who knew him. Despite his humble employment status, William was rich in spirit and touched many lives with his kindness. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence." William truly lived by this philosophy.

William was the beloved son of Donna and James Harris, who survive him. They remember him as a source of joy and pride, a steadfast presence who enriched their lives immeasurably. He was a son who embodied love, kindness, and a spirit of generosity that will be sorely missed. William was never married, but his love for his family and community was profound and enduring. In the words of Maya Angelou, "I sustain myself with the love of family." This was truly the essence of William's life.

In memory of William, we invite you to leave your memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Share your stories, moments of laughter, and times of solace. In doing so, we keep William’s spirit alive and honor the life he lived so well.
