SOUTH BEND - Our beloved brother, George Zywert, 73, of South Bend, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, June 8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. George was born on February 22, 1934, in South Bend, to Bruno and Bernice Zywert, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jane Pauline.

He is survived by his three sisters, Wanda (Bob) Wozniak, Evelyn (Jim-Kelly) Klosowski and Esther (David) Michalski.

George graduated from Washington High School and the University of Notre Dame with a master's in business. He served in the United States Air Force. He lived and worked in Gurnee, IL, at Motorola before he got sick. He fought a brave fight but he decided to go to a better place with his Lord.

Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Private burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor St., South Bend, IN 46601. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be sent to www.sjfh.net.

 I took His hand When I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Perhaps my time Seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now With undue grief. Lift up your heart And share with me; God wanted me now He set me free.
