Raymond C. Zielinski

Raymond C. Zielinski, 66, of Illinois Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:17 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on June 17, 1931, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. He was retired as a toll-booth attendant on the Indiana Toll Road.
He was married on Sept. 4, 1954, in South Bend, to Lorraine Walker, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, June (Jim) Rhodes and Lee Ann (Mark) Fokey, both of South Bend; two sons, Larry and Ron Zielinski, both of South Bend; nine grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; a sister, Loretta Hauguel of South Bend; and by two stepsisters, Helene (Bob) Sobiech and Rita (Vince) Nagy, both of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Casimier Zielinski, his mother, Irene (Zielinski) Klosinski; and by his stepfather, Bernard Kosinski.
Mr. Zielinski was a member of the Achievement Forum and was awarded the Achiever of the Year Award in 1996, was a member and current president of the Z.B. Falcon Conservation Club and was a member and past president of the Westside Democratic and Civic Club. He was also a member of the Breezers' Club, the St. Joseph Young Men's Society, Z.B. Falcons Nest 80, American Legion Pulaski Post 357 and the Ushers' Club of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a former councilman of District 6, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery
