Lucille B. (Mejer) Budny

March 23, 1933 - July 25, 2022

South Bend - Lucille Budny, 89, passed away Monday with her family at her side. Lucille was born March 23, 1933 in South Bend to the late Damizan and Carrie (Ewald) Mejer.

On November 25, 1950, Lucille married Edward Budny, who passed away on June 24,1990. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Budny.

Left to cherish Lucille's memory are her children, Kathleen Vargo, Eric (Mary Lou) Budny, and Aaron (Dawn) Budny; grandchildren, Candace (Andrew) Peregrine, Michelle Budny, Dustin Budny, and Samantha Budny; great-grandchildren Andi Peregrine, Lily (Garrett) Dildy, Lilah Peregrine, Gabriel Peregrine, and a great-great-granddaughter, Luna Rose Dildy.

Lucille was a member of ZB Falcons and parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She enjoyed her morning coffee, a Rice Krispy Treat, the newspaper and watching neighborhood children catching the bus. Lucille also enjoyed working in the yard on her garden and flowers, and decorating her house for holidays. She became an avid Notre Dame football fan after her many years of working there and meeting the players. Lucille loved hearing about her grandchildren's achievements. She also loved the family visits, especially when they brought their pets. She cherished the family vacations to Ludington, MI and summer weekends at Twin Lakes.

Always remember, "THIS TOO SHALL PASS"

Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a rosary prayed at 2:00 pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A funeral ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.Memorial Contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 620 West Edison Road #122, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
