Vernisha D Wilson - Class Of 2004 VIEW PROFILE

Vernisha Demetric Louise Wilson

Aug. 29, 1986 - June 12, 2011
ELKHART - Vernisha Demetric Louise Wilson, loving daughter, sister, aunt and cousin, was received by Jesus Christ the morning of Sunday, June 12, 2011, after a long battle with lupus. Vernisha, 24, was known as "Nish Nash" to all nieces and nephews. Vernisha was born August 29, 1986, in Elkhart, Indiana, and later moved to South Bend as a young lady. She didn't have children of her own, but she was an integral part of the upraising of her nieces and nephews. Vernisha confessed salvation in Christ as a young lady and was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ. She worked with the Vacation Bible School, loved children, and sang in the Christ Temple Choir.

God blessed her greatly during her walk with Him, she said "I just want to make it to heaven." So she lived the life it took to receive eternal life in Heaven; her living was not in vain. She also said when she leaves this world, she wants a homegoing and that everyone wear bright colors, not black, because this is a joyful occasion.

She attended Washington High School, John Robert Powers College for Modeling in Chicago, Illinois, and she designed clothes and enjoyed creating art.

Vernisha leaves her dear family to cherish her memory: her mother, Vernna (Dale) Monroe; her father, Wallace (Robin) Wilson Jr.; 2nd mother, Francis Jackson; brothers and sisters, Wallace Wilson III, Tanaya Wilson, Dewand Neely, Laquita Wilson, Takieta Beard, Tyrone James, Dontrell Monroe, Marsonel Monroe and Tawana Monroe; nephews, Malachi, TaRon, JaMonta, James and Aquavius; nieces, Shaparish, Nehemiah, Dajanay, Destiny, Tiana, Angel, Raelynn and Ah'Taya; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Homecoming Celebration for Vernisha Wilson will be held at noon on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, with viewing occurring from 11:00 a.m. to noon in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where messages of condolence may be e-mailed to Alfordsmortuary@comcast.net, c/o the Vernisha Wilson family.
