Alena Lott (Wilkins) - Class Of 1955 VIEW PROFILE

ALENA (LOTT) WILKINS

WILKINS, Alena Lott - Age 66, a long time resident of Flint, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.

Family hour 11AM Monday, October 20, 2003, followed by a memorial service at 11:30AM at First Union Baptist Church, 7004 Fleming Rd., Pastor Archie Powell, Jr. officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Alena began her journey in Rulerville, Mississippi on November 26, 1936 to the union of George and Mary (Williams) Lott. The Lott family moved to South Bend, Indiana around 1945, where she attended Benjamin Harrison Elementary and Washington High School of South Bend.

Alena had a strong passion for reading. She enhanced her knowledge by reading a variety of literature, poetry, (Maya Angelou) and completing challenging word puzzles; most of all, Alena loved the Lord. Later Alena resided in Flint, MI for approximately 35 years. Alena married the late Elliot Wilkins. She began her employment with the United States Postal Service from which she retired. Alena will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, compassion, and loyalty to family and friends, along with her willingness to help those in need. Alena was dearly loved by all.

Alena levaes to cherish her precious memories: two adopted children, Larry D. Lott and Etelka (James) Thomas; two brothers, James (Ruth) Lott and Jimmie Williams Lott; two sisters-in-law, Viola Lott and Carol J. Lott; and a host of special nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, Etelka and James Thomas, Marian Lott, Victoria Rodgers, Casper, Arthur Miller, Jessie Patterson and Evette; dear friends, Louise Dobbs Barringer of California, Lorene Carpenter, Lynn, Joyce, Warnell Griffin and Dolly Morgan; special prayer partners and cousins, Betty Herron Hunter, Willie of Indiana, Shirley Herron and Mary Herron Welch.

Alena was preceded in death by her grandparents-the Lotts, both parents, George and Mary (Williams) Lott; five siblings, Lawrence Lott, Alberta Phillips, Robert Lott, Beatrice Lott and George Lott.

Alena, we love you, but God loves you best, may your soul rest in peace, because you're simply the best. Your best friend, Louise Dobbs Barringer.
