RAYMOND E. WATSON

SOUTH BEND - Raymond E. Watson, 88, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 11:09 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Hospice House in South Bend, IN. He was born on July 11, 1924, to the late Paul and Gladys (Futa) Watson in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident.
Ray graduated in 1942 from Washington High School.
He worked for 40 years as a Tool Grinder with the Bendix Corp. before retiring in 1986. On June 15, 1946, he married Mary V. Barrier in South Bend, IN. He is survived by his wife, Mary V. Watson of South Bend, IN; sons, Kenneth (Carol) Watson of Niles, MI; Lawrence (Carole) Watson of Mishawaka, IN; six grandchildren, Brent Watson, Kellie (Pete) Crane, Bradley (Char) Watson, Daniel (fiancée, Mindy Izak) Watson; James (Tara) Kalil, Scott (Laura) Kalil; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline (John) Myszak of South Bend, IN.
Ray was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an avid harmonica player his whole life, and was a member of SPAH. Ray enjoyed fishing and wood-working.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. today, September 6, 2012, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, with Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
