SOUTH BEND - Mike Turza, 91, died on Monday, November 18, 2013, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross from heart complications. Mike was born September 15, 1922, he was the son of Joseph and Balbina (Szewczyk) Turza, brother of John Clem, Frank and Chester Turza, and Tina Czarnecki, who are deceased. He is survived by Jim and Margaret Turza, Tom Turza, Patricia Cosenza, Barbara Drajus, Ted and Josephine Pecina.

Mike honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946, and was discharged as a Sergeant Turza from Company K, 405th. Infantry 102nd. Division. He was employed with the 1st Source Bank in the Maintenance Department for many years.

Mike graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1941, and attended Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio.

He was a member of Saint Mary Polish National Church, and a member of the PNA, American Legion Post 357, and enjoyed playing golf.

There will be a private burial at a later date. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Past #357, 5414 W.
