FLORENCE A. (WAGGONER) STEVEN

NILES - Florence Arlene Steven, 79, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Florence was born on May 10, 1933, to the late Arthur Glen Waggoner and Beatrice Mae (Hullinger) LaVigne in South Bend, Indiana.

Florence graduated from Washington High School in South Bend in 1951 and soon after wed the love of her life, Donald Steven, on Sept. 2, 1952. A short time later Florence and Don started their family and had 3 children. Florence was a longtime member & parishioner of Sumnerville Bible Baptist Church.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Waggoner and Beatrice LaVigne, brother Walter Waggoner, and sister, Mary Cavinder.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don; children, Mark (Catherine) Steven of Niles, Donna Radford of Juanita Springs, Florida, and Terry Steven of Niles; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorena (Hector) Espinoza of South Bend, IN.

xA time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor George Matthews and Pastor Daniel Greegor officiating. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Florence's name may do so to Sumnerville Bible Baptist Church or to Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF).
