BUCHANAN - Ronnie Popielski, age 38, of Buchanan, MI, passed away Wednesday evening in his home. He was a longtime truck driver, most recently with Michiana Delivery Service, and was recently working as a forklift driver for Modineer in Niles, MI. Ronnie was born on August 6, 1971, in South Bend, and had lived in the South Bend area most of his life. He and his wife moved to Niles and then Buchanan, MI, in 2002. On September 21, 2002, in Niles, MI, Ronnie married Jenny (Wreggelsworth) Popielski, who survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Jan Cohen of New Carlisle; father, Roman Popielski Jr. of South Bend; daughter, Zoe; stepdaughter, Alexis; stepson, Bryant; two sisters, Tina (Mike) Jenkins of Otsego, MI, and Peggy Jankowski of South Bend; three brothers, Mark (Retha) Popielski of Dugger, IN, Aaron (Lisa) Popielski of New Carlisle and Mike Popielski of South Bend; and a stepsister, Tina (Michael) Clark of Columbus, OH. Ronnie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Denny Cohen, in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Ronnie enjoyed watching Michigan football. His hobbies and talents were too many to mention, but to name a few included shooting pool, singing karaoke, and playing corn hole. He loved hosting family get-togethers. Corn hole became a traditional event which Ronnie remained the reigning champion. Ronnie had a passion for art that manifested through the drawings and writings that he produced and shared throughout the years. Fly birdie fly To St. Peter not a word. Trevor Black (1989)

So sorry to hear about Ron. He was my classmate at Washington High School Class of 1989. Thought and prayers goes out to Ron Family.
