Otha Mosgrove, 28, who resided at 434 S. Jackson Street, South Bend, Ind., expired at 3:04 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, in McNeil Hospital, Berwyn, Ill.

On Feb. 22, 1969, in South Bend, he was born to the union of Otha C. and Florence Lee (Murphy) Hoskin. He was preceded in death by his father, Otha C. Mosgrove in July 1986.

He was a 1989 graduate of South Bend Washington High School where he played football and was a track letterman. He received the Who's Who Award and also The Joseph Bowland Award in 1991. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines, where he received the Good Conduct Medal.

He leaves to mourn his loss his mother, Florence Hoskin; five sisters, Jeannie (James) Essick, Cynthia Miller, Barbara Hoskin and Marie Michelle Mosgrove, all of South Bend, and Connie (Michael) John of Sherwood, Ill.; five brothers, Walter Lee (LaDonna) Hoskin, Calvin Hoskin, Bernie (Ellen) Hoskin, Maurice Hoskin, Marko Mosgrove; and by a fiancee, Tuco Walker, all of South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, where Otha was a member.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
