With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Zawondra Trinnette Lee, born on October 7, 1971, in South Bend, Indiana, who left us on December 10, 2023.

A woman of strength and resilience, Zawondra lived her life with grace and dignity. Born and raised in South Bend, Zawondra was a proud and accomplished graduate of Washington High School in 1989. Her love for learning led her to Michiana Beauty College, where she honed her skills in cosmetology. Zawondra’s thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there. She pursued her passion for helping others by attending Ivy Tech College, where she earned her associate degree as a certified surgical technician. Her dedication to her work was unwavering, and she brought comfort and care to countless patients throughout her career. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Zawondra was also a certified public notary, a testament to her diverse interests and skills. Zawondra is survived by her mother, Shirley Lee, her devoted children, O'Shae White and Iesha Hunt, her treasured grandchildren, Tina Irby, Naetalie White, Tiesha Goober, Kairu Slaughter, Jayden White, and Isaiah Goober all of South Bend, IN. She also leaves behind her brother, Zenicko Williams of South Bend, IN. She is preceded in death by her dear father and her beloved son, Kevin Slaughter II.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, her achievements, and the love she shared with us all. We invite family, friends, and those whose lives Zawondra touched, to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm EST at Alford's Mortuary, located at 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601.
