GEORGE A. REED
April 27, 1962 - March 1, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Mr. George Allen Reed, age 50, who resided on West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013. George was born to Josephine (Reed) Hoskins on April 27, 1962, in Michigan City, Indiana.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1980, where he played the guitar and was a member of the first organized Washington High School Gospel Choir. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after faithfully serving his country.
He was a very family-oriented person who loved helping & giving. He worked as a laborer with lawn care and handyman jobs. His hobbies included playing the guitar and singing.
George was preceded in death by his brother, William Reed Sr.; two uncles, Earl & Harvey Reed; his grandparents, Earl T. & Amelia (Taylor) Reed; and two nephews, Bernard Vaughn Jr. and Everett Corey Wade.
Survivors left to cherished his memory include his wife, Pamela (Buzalski) Reed; his mother, Josephine Reed Hoskins; his daughter, Catherine Renee Reed Hoskins; four sisters, Amelia Reed White, Penny Wade, Dionne Butler Wade and Tonya Brown, all of South Bend; two brothers, Jerome (Pandora) Agnew of Omaha, Nebraska, and Everett Wade of South Bend; an uncle, Winrow (Murtie) Reed of Michigan City, IN; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services for George Allen Reed will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
