CuRuth (Moore) Montgomery

SOUTH BEND - Mrs. CuRuth Montgomery, who resided on Eastridge Drive, Birmingham, AL, departed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in Birmingham at the age of 64. CuRuth was born in Dell, Arkansas on Nov. 12, 1943, to the union of Virgil Sr. and Samella Moore. The family moved to South Bend, Indiana, soon after.
She attended Washington High School and became a licensed practical nurse after graduating from Ivy Tech College.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Jack Montgomery; a son, Antoine Perry of Oakland, CA; two daughters, Eulalia Perry of South Bend, IN, and Tarnish McCurn of Highland, IN; two stepsons, Jack (Taronda) Montgomery and Sean (Kimberly) Montgomery, both of Akron, Ohio; three sisters, Willabea (Murry) Stevens of South Bend, Mary Louise (John) Rhodes of Lithonia, GA, and Dorothy Jean (Eddie) Cook of South Bend, IN; four brothers, Virgil (Rosie) Moore of Gary, IN, Samuel (Annie) Moore of Brownsburg, IN, James Arthur (Sherby) Moore of Atlanta, GA, and Wilroy (Linda) Moore of South Bend, IN; along with seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends.
Family members who have preceded her in death along with her parents were three sisters, Julie Moore, Jimmie Ree Moore and Sarah Ann McFarland; and a grandson, Travaughn Johnson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where bereavement messages may be e-mailed to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net, c/o: the Montgomery family. A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
