CRUMSTOWN - Rita J. Kania, 77, passed away at 2:15 am on Wednesday, October 03, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Rita was born July 24, 1935 in South Bend to the late Casimir and Irene (Pietraszewski) Kania. Survivors include her brother, Robert A. (Kathleen) Kania; nieces, Sharon (Jim) Miller & Deanna (Brian) Totton; nephew, Rob (Melissa) Kania; and a cousin, Clara Sczepczenski

Rita was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, a graduate of Washington High School, and retired after 43 years of service with 1st Source Bank. Rita was a terrific baker and enjoyed gardening,

Visitation for Rita will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, October 8, 2012 in St. Casimir Catholic Church, where there will be a 1 hour visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545 or the Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
