SOUTH BEND - Frederick Davon Jones, affectionately called "Fred", who resided on South Illinois Street, South Bend, Indiana, departed this life at 2:54 a.m., Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 19. Frederick was born in South Bend on March 7, 1989 to Lannie Jones and Frederick Teague.

Fred was a 2007 graduate of Washington High School where he played baseball, football and basketball. He was also involved in Talent Search and Cadet Teaching.

Fred had a special love for baseball, technology and fixing things. Fred was a student at Indiana University-Perdue University Fort Wayne majoring in Business Administration. He was a member of The Business Administration Club and also Intramural football team.

Loving family members who survive to cherish Fred's memory include his mother and father, Lannie Jones and Frederick Teague, one brother, Cameronn Teague; maternal grandparents, Henry and Annie Jones, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Beverly Wingo Sr.; and paternal great-grandmother, Girtie Brown; maternal aunts, Carolynette Jones, Tracy Jones and Wanda Jones; uncles, Larry Mack and Henry Jones Jr.; paternal uncles, Simeon Teague and James Wade Jr.; maternal great-aunts, Texanna Boone, Mary Kincade, Clarice Walker, Rachel Royal, Drusilla Johnson and Bernice Jones; paternal great-aunts, Juatuan and Ranatia Brown; maternal great-uncles, John Mack and Major Jones; paternal great-uncle, Norris Brown; special cousins, Quental Weston, Ebony Jones, Henry Jones III and Markayla Jones, all of South Bend, along with best friends, Nick Searfoss, Brian Kowalski, Jeremy Lee, Marquis Hopkins, Jerry Willis, Jr., Korey Jackson, Maricela Juarez, Matt LeKarczyk, Eric Korpal, and special friend Kirsten Branner; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John E. and Celeste Mack; and paternal step grandfather, Fred Teagues, Sr. and grandmother Lenell Teague; uncles, Wayne Mack and Demetric Teague; aunt, Wilma Jones; and great-aunts, Martha Tyson and Minnie Wilder.

Funeral services for Fred will be held at 1:00 p.n., Saturday, April 12, at Pentecostal Cathedral Church. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening at Pentecostal Church from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
