GENEVIEVE LEMANSKI OBITUARY

SOUTH BEND - Genevieve (Jean) A. Lemanski, 86, passed away at 7:18 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. Jean was born on March 4, 1925 to the late Stanley and Veronica (Guzicki) Janczak who preceded her in death. Jean is also preceded in death by one sister, Mollie (Janowski) and three brothers, Al, Johnny, and Louis Janczak.

Jean attended Washington High School.

During World War II, Jean worked as a mail girl at Studebakers. On May 4, 1946, Jean married Casimir D. Lemanski in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Cas died on February 3, 2009.

Jean is survived by three sons, Robert D. (Billie) Lemanski, James M. Lemanski, and John P. (Linda) Lemanski all of South Bend.

Jean was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was also known as an excellent baker of pies and desserts. Jean was a lover of all animals, especially cats. She was a generous donor to many charitable organizations.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle and the staff on the 11th floor of Memorial Hospital, for the excellent care our mother received.

A private service was held February 21, 2012 at Jean's request. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., is assisting the family.
