VERNON T. JENNINGS

March 26, 1959 - June 17, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Vernon T. Jennings, 50, was born on March 26, 1959, to Roberta Parahams Jennings and Emmerson Bolden Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio. Vernon accepted Christ at a young age.

He attended Washington High School and he enjoyed playing basketball and going fishing with his friends.

Vernon was a very happy and outgoing young man. He tried to make others laugh and always met you with a smile. He was a quiet yet hard-working man who gave unconditional love.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Roberta Parahams; grandmother, Emma Jennings; aunt, Ada Barbie; great-aunt, Goldie Lottie; siblings, Shirley Kimble, Joanne Parahams, Jacqueline Parahams, Valerie Murphy, Jonathan Parahams, Jeffery Parahams, Jimmie Parahams and Joseph Parahams. And also a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Vernon T. Jennings will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2009, in Alford's Mortuary, with visitation occurring one hour prior to service in the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where bereavement messages may be e-mailed to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net, c/o Jennings family.
