MARJORIE M. (RININGER) HORVATH

Marjorie M. Horvath Dec. 23, 1933 - July 27, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Marjorie M. Horvath, 80, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born December 23, 1933 in South Bend to the late Kenneth and Geneva (Fuller) Rininger. Marjorie is also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Rininger.

On August 11, 1951 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Marjorie married her loving husband of 62 years, Marvin Horvath; he survives along with their children, Debra (Raymond) Bianchi of South Bend, Stephen (Ling "Lillian") Horvath of Sacramento, Kirk (Melanie) Horvath of North Liberty, Candace Huff of South Bend, Deanna "DeDe" (Garry) Fields of South Bend and Michael (Sherre) Horvath of North Liberty; 11 granddaughters, 9 grandsons and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Kring, Marilyn Lubinski, and Shirley (Eugene) LaDonne, and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie retired in 1996 after 33 years with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was a member of National Honor Society and graduate at Washington High School.

Marjorie was a parishioner of Holy Family, a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society and Blue Bird leader. She was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. Marjorie enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, her flower garden, playing volley ball, and family gatherings. Most of all, she enjoyed raising her children and nurturing her grand-children and great-grand-children.

Visitation for Marjorie will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
