SOUTH BEND - Joseph G. Horvath, Sr., 67, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013, in his home. Joseph was born on November 24, 1945 in South Bend to Joseph A. and Ann (Dukai) Horvath, and was a lifelong resident. He retired in 1996. Joseph had been a Retail Manager for many years.

On November 23, 1968 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree, Massachusetts, he married Merrill Mahoney, who survives. Also surviving are his four children, Jill Horvath of Granger, Indiana, Joseph D. Horvath of South Bend, Indiana, Gregory Horvath of Goshen, Indiana and Brian Horvath of South Bend, Indiana; six grandchildren, Cody Hudgen, Riley, Jordan and Madison Horvath, and Christian and Isabella Horvath; and his best friend and companion, Freckles.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2013 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Friends may call from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
