MARGARET M. (MOLNAR) HEINEMAN

Margaret M. Heineman, age 84, of Naples, Florida, passed away April 6, 2022. After successfully beating ovarian cancer, four years later she succumbed to acute leukemia. She was born May 28, 1937 to the late Louis and Ethel (Kertesz) Molnar in South Bend, Indiana.

Margie graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1955 and Ball State Teacher's College in 1960, where she was proud to share all of her stories about being a Chi Omega. On August 26, 1961, Margie M. Molnar married George W. Heineman at St. Stephens Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Margie enjoyed a career teaching and coaching at Washington High School in South Bend and Connersville School District in Connersville, Indiana. She was more than just a physical education and health teacher and based her philosophy on building relationships and connections that lasted a lifetime. Margie led with her smile and enormous heart and had the ability to turn any stranger into an immediate friend.

In her free time, which she had very little of, Margie enjoyed and excelled at masters swimming, tennis and golf. Her deep-seated competitive drive helped her succeed in sports and in her daily life. Gardening and dabbling in the arts gave her joy and a creative outlet. She was a devout Catholic and the lioness of her family of cubs. Her support and encouragement was always evident. Dressing up in silly outfits for celebrations, waving signs at athletic events, and always acknowledging birthdays and special events with a card, are just small examples of her big heart in action. Margie and the love of her life, George, spent any and all free time traveling to be there for their children, and then grandchildren's', events. Oh, how she would light up when she talked about all of her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Louis, Joseph, William, and Emery Molnar; and sisters, Ethel Adamo and Anne Gorbitz.

Margie leaves behind her husband, George W. Heineman; daughter, Leslie (Todd) Felch; twin sons Michael (Theresa) and Christopher (Susie) Heineman; ten grandchildren, Kelley Eckhoff, Michelle Felch, Ashley Eckhoff, Savannah Felch, Carlie Heineman, Kinzie Heineman, Mark Tanski, Samantha Tanski, Emily Tanski, Halle Heineman.

A celebration of life will be held on a date to be determined.
