SOUTH BEND - George Allen Hall, 51, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of South Bend, IN, transitioned from this life on February 17, 2014. He was born on March 8, 1962 (as a twin to Gwendlyn) in South Bend, IN to James and Catherine Hall.

George attended Washington High School in South Bend, IN.

He moved to Oceanside, CA to be with family and to help out with his nieces and nephews. George loved California and stayed for several years before moving to Kalamazoo, MI, where he lived and worked for 12 years. He was employed at the Gospel Mission and at Stryker Corporation in Michigan. After a short stay in South Bend, he moved to Birmingham, AL two years ago, to be with his sister Gwen.

George was survived by his estranged wife, Mary Mims, and his son, George James Michael Hall. He also leaves to cherish his memory twelve brothers and sisters: Gail Fletcher, Janice (Donnie) Johnson, both of South Bend, IN, Sandra (Carlton) Ingram of Oceanside, CA, James II (Mertis) Hall and Beverly Hall both of Houston, TX, Belinda (Elias) Wilson of Anaheim, CA, Phyllis (Lance) Robinson of Kalamazoo, MI, Michael (Charmaine) Hall of South Bend, IN, Michelle Gunn of Oceanside, CA, Marilynn Hall of Woodbridge, VA, Gwendlyn Hall of Birmingham, AL and Sheila Hall of South Bend, IN.

George lit up any room he walked into and always had something funny to say. He always left a smile on your face or laughter in your heart.

George has many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly: Sean, Tamiko, Damon, Sheri, Rachel, Rakin, James III, Maurice, Nicole, Kevin, James, Jerri, Erica, LaTressa, Dominiquecole, Jaquese, Michael Jr., Eugene, Don'te, Thomas, Darrell, Charles Jr., Myles, Shae'ron, Richard, Mya and Bre-Anna. He also leaves many other relatives and friends who will miss him.

George was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Hall Sr. and Catherine Hall, one niece, Tanetta Walton, and three nephews, Ellis Howell Jr., Jason Howell and Brandon Hall.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12:00 p.m. Sign his guest book at www.clarkoneal.com. Arrangements entrusted to Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home.
