CLEMENT J. GRALL

SOUTH BEND - Clement Joseph (Grzeszczyk) Grall, 94, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011, in Memorial Hospital. Clement was born on August 28, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Helen (Wyremblewski) Grzeszczyk.

Clement was also preceded in death by a son, Craig "Butch" Grall, who passed away September 25, 2009; and by sisters, Henrietta Vandercar and Florence Bryan.

On February 3, 1945, in South Bend, Clement married Gertrude T. (Kujawski). She survives along with children, Cynthia (Paul) Means and Timothy (Ruth) Grall, all of Columbia City, IN; daughter-in-law, Shirley Grall; sister, Greta Beard; grandchildren, Regina Kring, Mark Grall, Eric (Carmen) Means, Phillip Means and Daniel Grall; step-grandchildren, Maryann Pheiffer and John Wilson; five great-grandchildren; and by nieces, Judy and Linda.

Clement graduated from Washington High School, was a sergeant in the CBI Division of the U.S. Air Force. serving in Karachi, India, and was a South Bend fireman for 27 years before retiring in 1977.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Young Men's Society, American Legion Post 50, South Bend Fireman's Mortuary Association, enjoyed working around the house and watching all sports, especially Notre Dame football. He was a parishioner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
