ALEXANDER RAY GILL

Alexander Ray Gill May 17, 1990 - Aug. 16, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Alexander Ray Gill, age 24, who resided on Meadow Lane, South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Alexander was born May 17, 1990, in South Bend, IN, to Alvin Ray Gill and Elma Jene (Sconiers) Quinn.

He graduated from Washington High School in 2009.

His work history included working for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and working as a Loader / Unloader for Quantom Aviation. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where he served as an active Youth Ministry member, an altar server and a member of the Father & Son Flag Football Event. He loved to sing, especially rap.

Alexander was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Mr. Gill, and a maternal grandmother, Ida Mae Sconiers.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his mother, Elma Jene (Anthony) Quinn III of South Bend, IN; his father, Alvin Ray Gill of Indianapolis, IN; his maternal grandfather, Samuel Harvest Sconiers; a stepsister, Natosha Smith; three brothers, Anthony Quinn IV, and Triston Gill, all of South Bend, IN, and Tyrese Gill of Indianapolis, IN; two aunts, Annie (Deacon Melvin) Tardy and Georgia Bird; six uncles, Harvey (Kathy) Sconiers, Wallace (Cheryl) Sconiers, Curtis Sconiers, Fred (Valerie) Sconiers, Ulysses Sconiers and John (Tina) Sconiers; special friends, Jay Vann, Leonard Butler, Travis Jones, Ruth Reese, Beverly Milon, Sabrina Butler, The Nurses at Memorial Hospital Sickle Cell Unit, especially Ms. Jenny Streeter; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with viewing occurring at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary. www.alfordsmortuaryinc.com
