SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Peggy Jean Forrest was born December 12, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the union of Robert Lee and Johnnie B. (Robinson) Love. She finished her journey here on earth at her residence on March 3, 2011. She was united in holy matrimony to Joseph Forrest Sr. in South Bend, Indiana. To this union two children were born Guy and Eric; stepdaughters, Alice, Maxine and Barbara; stepsons, Joseph Jr., Mack, Mitch and Corey.

Peggy graduated from Washington High School. She attended Indiana University South Bend where she received an Associate of Arts degree.

She worked from 1969 through 2002 as a Parent Liaison and Security Guard for the South Bend Community School Corporation until she retired. She also worked 10 years at Liberty Mutual until she retired. She was a licensed realtor. She worked for the Department of Community and Economic Development with various projects. She was currently owner of Peggy's-N-Things. She was a committee chairperson for Warren 3 precinct during elections. She was treasury of the Board for the My Ranch, Inc., and volunteered for their food pantry. She was a volunteer on the Venison Festival in Michigan. As a young child she grew up at Grace Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Samuel Tabb. She was currently a member of St. Luke Memorial Church of God in Christ.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Guy (Vanessa) of South Bend and Eric (Hope) of Atlanta, GA; three stepsons, Joseph Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Mack of San Diego, CA, and Mitch (Angela) of South Bend and Corey of Warsaw, Indiana; three stepdaughters, Alice of South Bend, Maxine (Michael) Alexander of Detroit, Michigan, Barbara of Los Angeles, CA; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; her father, Robert Lee Love Sr. of South Bend; two sisters, Judy Karen Love of South Bend and Cynthia (Willie) Bush of Fishers, Indiana; two brothers, Wilford (Ernestine) Love of South Bend and Johnnye (Patricia) Love of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and sister-in-law, Elsie Love of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceded her in death were her husband, Joseph Forrest; mother, Johnnie B. Love; two brothers, Robert Lee Love Jr. and Michael Anthony Love; and a stepson, Bruce. Peggy was no stranger to any one, always greeted you with a smile, and had a kind word.

Homegoing celebration will take place at noon on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
