Anthony Ronnell Fluker - Class Of 2008 VIEW PROFILE

ANTHONY R. FLUKER

July 5, 1989 - Dec. 3, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Anthony Ronnell Fluker II, loving son, brother, father, grandson and friend, completed his life journey on Dec. 3, 2013. Anthony Fluker, 24, also known to his family and friends as "Lil Tony," was a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana, where he resided with his grandparents. On July 5, 1989, Anthony Fluker II was born to the union of Anthony & Kiena Fluker.

He leaves behind a mother, Kiena (Supt. William) Hackworth, and 2 sisters, Lucinda (Robert) McDaniels and Mia Elayne Fluker; one son, Deontre' Ronnell Fluker; his grandparents, Bennie & Mary Winters; two special uncles, Kent Winters and Pastor Andre' R. Fluker; two special aunts, Elayne Webb and Rameld Price; and two Godmothers, Eleanor Chism and Cecilia Alford-Moore.

Preceding him in death were his father, Pastor Anthony R. Fluker Sr., on 11/15/2005, whom he loved very much and shared a close bond with; his paternal grandparents, Samuel & Lucinda Fluker of Chicago, IL; and two aunts, Requitta Fluker-Hamilton & Lawanda Fluker- Howard Lil Tony cherished his relationship he had with his son and his two sisters.

Tony had a caring and compassionate spirit towards his family and friends, willing to do whatever he could to help. Tony respected and always addressed his elders and employers with "mam" and "sir," which he was complimented on often. Tony was raised in a Christian home under the guidance of his parents, Anthony & Kiena Fluker, where in his adult years he often recalled when his Dad would sit him and his sisters down and teach them the scripture that he was taught by his Dad (Dr. Samuel A. Fluker), Matthew 5:16.

Tony's parents recognized his musical ability in him at the early age of 2. They began to allow him to develop his interest in playing the drums. Tony amazed many with his talent at such an early age. Tony allowed the gift of playing the organ from his late grandmother and late father to live through him. Many times his father would take him down in the basement and teach him preaching chords, so he could assist him while preaching and later on continuing to play and assist his mother and grandmother in ministry. Bro. Herschell Williams also was an instrument in cultivating his gift of playing in Tony, but Tony's greatest love was the drums.

Tony was a graduate of Washington High School in 2008, where he played on the varsity basketball team for 3 years up until the death of his father, when he no longer had interest.

Tony's friends always enjoyed his presence. He was the one that kept everyone on a happy note. Tony had many friends and some were closer than others. Tony began to withdraw from family and friends and his struggle in the end became too great in overcoming the death of his father, and Matthew 7:1 declares "Judge not, that ye be not judged." Tony's presence will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. He leaves behind his nephew and niece, Anthony & Zaya, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, December 12, 2013, at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ, with burial following at South Lawn Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary. www.alfordsmortuaryinc.com
