VICTOR DRABECKI

SOUTH BEND - Victor Drabecki, 89, passed away at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in his residence. Victor was born on March 3, 1921 in South Bend to the late Jon and Lucy (Olzewski) Drabecki. On October 27, 1951 in South Bend he married Henrietta Kruk, she preceded him in death on September 17, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Drabecki; three brothers, Florian, Stanley, and Anthony Drabecki; and by his four sisters, Berniece, Christine, Celia, and Martha.
He is survived by his four children, Victoria (Allen) Rosker of San Diego, CA, Kathy (Leon) Kalka of South Bend, Mark Drabecki of Honolulu, HI, and David Drabecki of South Bend; grandchildren, Kristen Rosker, Kimberley Rosker, Anthony Kalka, Mark Kalka, Thomas Kalka; and by his brother, Julius (Mary) Drabecki of South Bend.
He was a graduate of Washington High School and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII.
Victor was member of the American Legion Post 357 and the Maennerchor Club. He was a family man. He loved fixing things and enjoyed playing cards, especially poker.
The family would like to thank the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, for all their special assistance.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 17, 2010 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637 or to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor St., South Bend, IN 46601. For those who are unable to attend the Funeral Mass, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net
