MICHAEL R. CIESIOLKA

July 20, 1936 - June 9, 2007
SOUTH BEND - Michael Richard Ciesiolka, 70, of Marks Street, South Bend, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. Michael started his career as a draftsman for South Bend Range. He then owned and operated Big Mike's Place in South Bend and Barron Lake Grocery in Niles, MI. He was born on July 20, 1936, in South Bend, to the late William and Hattie (Strzlecki) Ciesiolka, and had lived in this area most of his life.

On August 7, 1971, in South Bend, he married Judy Gale Krakowski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Robert) Grahl of Niles, MI, and Carol McIntyre of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Ronald Ciesiolka of Niles, MI; and six grandchildren, Kelly and Greg Ford, Brooke Habijanac, Anthony Reed, Andrea and Alexis Grahl; three nieces, Cindy Boone, Pam Jenkins and Gail Miller; and two nephews, Bob Jr. and Carl Lichnerowicz.

Michael was a graduate of Washington High School in South Bend.

He loved animals and enjoyed gambling on everything. He was always full of the entrepreneurial spirit. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Leonard Chrobot will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 5:30 PM Tuesday until time of services. Contributions in memory of Michael may be made to Cathy Grahl at 481 Ironwood Drive, Niles, MI 49120, to help defray final expenses.
