IVAN L. BENMAN

Sept. 22, 1957 - March 12, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Mr. Ivan Lowell Benman, age 55, who resided on Pleasant Street, South Bend, IN, went home to be with the Lord at 10:41 a.m. on March 12, 2013, at Memorial Hospital. Ivan was born September 22, 1957, in South Bend, IN, to Harold & Henrietta (Weatherspoon) Benman.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1977 and attended Indiana University Bloomington for two years, majoring in Drafting.

He worked for Monoco Coach for 10 years and served as an Elder at New Horizons Ministries.

Ivan was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Benman, and three brothers, Rodney Austin, David Benman and Robert Lee Benman.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his father, Elder Harold Benman Sr.; three sisters, Pamela Benman, Alana Benman and Diane (Mark) Winters; four brothers, Bruce Benman, all of South Bend, Gregory Benman of Columbus, Ohio, Harold Benman Jr. and Timothy Benman, both of South Bend, IN; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Homecoming services for Ivan Benman will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at New Horizons Ministries, with viewing taking place at the church from 11:00 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers, the Benman family is accepting donations to be made payable to Alford's Mortuary. The Benman family would like to thank New Horizons for their love and support shown to the family during this difficult time.
