Robert (Bob, Bobby) Joachim Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022.Bob was born November 26, 1941 in South Bend to the late Matthew and Elsie (Stephens) Joachim. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Joachim, Jr.; sister, Jeanette Banasiewicz; brother-in-law, Ronald Banasiewicz; in-laws, Maurice and Irma Stoffelen; brother-in-laws, Larry Hauguel and Maury Stoffelen.Left to cherish the memory of Bob is his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life Janice (Stoffelen) Joachim, they were married on June 12, 1965. He is also survived by his children, Patricia (Rob) Gardner of Walkerton, In., Brenda (John Jr.) Gaffigan of South Bend, and Tracie Nowicki of South Bend; grandchildren, Tony (Kinzie) Chabera, Ashley Nowicki, Jeffery Chabera, John Gaffigan III, Austin Nowicki, Nathan Nowicki, Matthew Nowicki; great-grandchildren, Jasper Gaffigan, Gatlin Gaffigan, Huxley Gaffigan, Jace Chabera, Walker Chabera, London Nowicki; special cousin, Carol Bartels; special sister-in-law, Jeanette Hauguel. THE DARNOLD FAMILY who he cherished in his life, Craig Nowicki, Brianna Edholm, Keith Nowicki, Sarah Krugh, Ashlyn Hardesty, Samantha Sargent, James Greenleaf, Autumn Greenleaf; and many nieces and nephews.Bob worked for the Raco Corporation for 43 years from 1965-2008 as a crane operator until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, snowmobile riding, going to the casino, scratch off tickets, NASCAR, watching girls Notre Dame Basketball and Football. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.Bob lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer with his family by his side, he fought a long and courageous battle at home.Visitation for Robert will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd.
