Larry Sr. Harvell - Class Of 1967 VIEW PROFILE

Larry Sr. Harvell

    

Larry Harvell Sr. was born June 21, 1949, in Nashville, TN to Grady Sr. and Ada (Gough) Harvell.  He moved to South Bend and spent much of his early years with his grandmother, Edna Harvell who he fondly called “Ma”.  

He attended Washington High School and honorably served our country in the United States Army and was discharged as Spec 4.  Larry’s work life included Clark Equipment, Shippers Dispatch, Preston Trucking, AM General and South Bend Community School Corporation.  

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and he shared his skill for cooking corn at K-Wood Products, Robinson Community Center and for anyone who asked.  Larry also had a great love for his family, and he never met a stranger.  

Preceding him in death, his parents, Grady and Ada Harvell, paternal grandparents Gilbert and Edna Harvell, maternal grandparents Edward and Blanch Ford.  Brother Grady Harvell Jr., grandson Kobe Michael Crist, brother in laws Allen Redding and Edgar Redding Jr.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories:  His loving wife Juanita Redding Harvell, four children Larry Harvell Jr. (Monique), Veronica Martin, Willa Jones (Ulysses) (their mother Sheila Lax Harvell) and Kenya Harvell (his mother Juanita Redding Harvell).  Ten grandchildren Kea Kyle of Dallas, TX, James White Jr of Boston, MA, Terrence and Kenneth Eppinger of South Bend, Levi and Letitia Welch of South Bend, Larry Harvell III, of Simi Valley, CA, Sable and Sarita Harvell and Ja’Liyah Small.  15 great grandchildren.

Five Sisters Emma Jean Hudgins (James), of Snellville, GA, Earline Corley, Belinda Horton and Rita Burke of Nashville, TN and Marie Leslie, of Birmingham AL.  Special friends Zach Newsom, of Nashville TN, Jessie Gathright, Dallas Patterson, Jay Holt, Arthur Bell and David Harris.  Two aunts Eloise Harvell, of Nashville TN and Annie Moore, of Mt. Airy, OH.  Two special nieces Nadine (Michelle) Breveard-Collins and Lesa Murry.  A Special Thank You to Traditions Health and Hospice and to all family members and friends.  May your loving kindness return to you in the same beautiful way it was given.
