June 27, 1949 ~ August 21, 2022 (age 73)

Spencer Jennings Jr., 73, departed from this life on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 10:28 p.m. in Memorial Hospital, with his wife by his side.  Spencer was born June 27, 1949, in South Bend, IN, to the late Spencer Sr. and Glodene Jennings. He married the love of his life, Dorita (Washington) Jennings, December 13, 1985. After attending Washington High School, Spencer obtained his CDL License. He learned the trade of truck driving from his father and brothers. Spencer was a truck driver over 50 years. driving for various companies, and eventually became the owner/operator of his own semi. 

Spencer loved to fish and spend time socializing with family and friends. Spencer leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 37 years, Dorita Jennings; one son, Edward Jennings of South Bend, IN; three daughters, Rosetta Jenkins of Indianapolis, IN, Aisha Jenkins, and Makisha (Terry) Johnson, both of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; four sisters Glenda “Faye” Gadson, Mary “May” Palmer, and Elnora “Nodie” Chism all of South Bend, and Brenda (Bobby) Williams of Rowlett, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Those who preceded him in death were his parents, Spencer Sr. and Glodene Jennings; his three brothers, J.T. Jennings, Robert T. Jennings, and Tommy T. Jennings. Services for Mr. Spencer Jennings Jr. will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1862 N. Olive St., South Bend, IN 46628.  Visitations will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared
