MILDRED B. (ADLER) FRANK

April 19, 1913 - July 5, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Mildred Bertha (Adler) Frank, 96, passed away at 3:15 PM on July 5, 2009, in her residence at The Milton Home. Mrs. Frank was born in South Bend to the late Max and Lillian (Strauss) Adler on April 19, 1913.

She graduated from Saint Mary's College in 1939, and then taught at Washington High School.

She later worked part-time at her father's store, the former Max Adler's. On January 9, 1939, in South Bend, she married Maurice Nathanial Frank, who passed away on August 21, 1965. She worked as a bookkeeper for her husband and typed Braille for the blind, volunteered for Legal Services, enjoyed playing Bridge, and was a lifetime member of Sinai Synagogue where she was in the Sinai Sisterhood. She had also been a member of Temple Beth-El for some time.

Surviving are her five sons, Marvin J. (Susan) Frank of Indianapolis, Robert L. (Loretta) Frank of Granger, William R. (Joyce) Frank of Jupiter, FL, David A. (Ruthie) Frank of South Bend and Bradford A. (Cindy) Frank of Jacksonville, OR; and a sister, Ruth O'Niel of San Francisco. There are 12 grandchildren who survive: Phillip B., Brendan, Brook, Briton, Michelle, Seth, Brad, Allison, Michael, Brian, Jillian and Emily; as well as 11 great-grandchildren, Asher, Ellen, Jackson, Abby, Molly, Nathan, Ellie, Naomi, Charles, Izabelle and Morgan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8th, at 10:30 AM in the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 at Cherry, with Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating. Burial will follow at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka.
