Kenneth Thompson - Class Of 1979

Kenneth Thompson

Kenneth (Kenny) Thompson of South Bend peacefully entered eternal rest, on Saturday, December 24th at 3:30 am at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness.

  He was born October 15, 1959, to the late Reba Phillips and the late William Thompson Sr.  Kenneth was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.  Kenneth is survived by seven sisters; Cheryl (Sherry) Phillips, South Bend, Betina Harris of Dallas, TX, Jackie (Anthony) Phillips-Williams, Nancy Anderson, both of Indianapolis, Kim (Kenny) Johnson, Patricia (Michael) Henderson and Sandra Johnson, South Bend, IN; four brothers Michael (Phyllis) Phillips Sr., Jerome Phillips and Michael Johnson, South Bend, Wiley (Keiaonna) Phillips Jr., of Tennessee.  Paternal aunts; Rosie Brittan, Elkhart and Marie Braylock, South Bend.  A special maternal aunt, Rita Lottie, special friend, Dean Owens, and a brother-in-law, who was more like a brother, Ronald Jones. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

In addition to his mother Reba Phillips and father William Thompson Sr., he was also preceded in death by three sisters; Regina Clark, Thomasena Jones, and Diane Thompson; Four brothers, Larry, James and Brian Phillips and William Thompson Jr; maternal grandparents, Kenny & Lula Mae Taylor; paternal grandparents, Doak & Jessie Thompson. 

Kenneth was 1979 graduate of Washington High School.  He loved to participate in family gatherings and was a great singer.  He worked doing odd jobs for family and friends and was known to many as KT. 

Services for Mr. Thompson will be held on Thursday December 29, 2022; 3 P.M in the chapel of Alford’s Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, IN 46601. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford’s Mortuary Inc.
