Sharon J. Konopka

Sharon J. Konopka, 29, of Austin, Texas, formerly of South Bend, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday in Austin, the result of a motorcycle accident. Austin police said that Konopka, a passenger, was thrown when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Miss Konopka was pronounced dead at the scene of severe head injuries and was taken to Breckinridge Hospital.
She was a bank officer for the Credit Bank Savings Association in Austin. Born Feb. 8, 1956, in South Bend, she moved to Texas in 1980.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara Cripe of Elkhart; two brothers, Joseph Konopka of South Bend and John Libertowski of South Bend; and her mother and stepfather, Yolanda and Chester Libertowski of South Bend.
Her father, Bruno Konopka, died in 1963.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Miss Konopka graduated in 1979 from Indiana University, Bloomington.
