Todd Lee Ullery, 45, of South Bend, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, surrounded by his family and friends. Todd was born on August 26, 1961, in Lydick, Ind., to James and Gloria “June”(Stebner) Ullery.He graduated from Washington High School in 1979, and went on to Ivy Tech to study heating and air conditioning.
In 1990 he married Rebecca Swiental, his beloved wife, and they began their life together. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; sons, twins, Kyle and Travis, and Erik;and stepson, Ian Kollar. Todd is also survived by his father, James; brothers, Kevin (Sharon) Ullery and Kelley (Carrie) Ullery of South Bend;sisters, Robin (Mike) Johnson of Eagle River, AK, and Tara Oberlander of Three Rivers, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. .
He was preceded in death by his mother in October 2005, and by his sister, Mara Lee Ullery.
Todd was employed as an equipment operator for the City of South Bend and together with his wife Becky they owned and ran the “View Tavern”in South Bend.Todd was known for his delicious Cajun Gumbo, Jambalaya and Santa Fe chicken. He also made the best honey-glazed Sloppy Joes ever. Todd was a loving and caring husband and father who will be greatly missed.No matter how busy he was between his two jobs, he always managed to attend his boys sporting events. He was a diehard Cubs and Bears fan. To know him was to love him.Always helping friends and family when needed.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.Thursday, August 31, in ST.JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.Mayflower Road, and one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday, September 1, 2006, in the funeral home.Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fifth Third Bank, c/o the Ullery Children, 301 N.Main St., South Bend, IN 46601. My darling husband, I love you with my heart and soul.
