Earvin "Lee" Taylor
September 27, 1959 ~ February 4, 2025
Earvin “Lee” Taylor, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the age of 65 years.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1977, and retired from the United States Army in 2002, where he formed friendships and memories that lasted all of his life. Lee drove Semi-Tractor Trailer trucks across country, which he loved to do and was an avid hunter, fisherman, motorcycle rider, chef and a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He also enjoyed the outdoors, camping and canning hot peppers with his mother. Lee was baptized and was a member at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where he once coordinated and cooked for all events. With his quick wit and playful spirit, he will be remembered for always bringing smiles and laughter to those in his presence. Lee was a free spirit who did what he wanted to do, but he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Son of the late Robert Lee Taylor, Sr., Lee is survived by his loving mother, Clara Mae Taylor. Two daughters, Sherrika Taylor, Indianapolis, IN and Ga'briel Shellenbarger, St. Louis, MO. Seven sisters, Jacqueline Anderson, Christal Colbert, and Mary (Damon) Pittman, all of South Bend, IN, Courtney Sutton, Kokomo, IN, Tina (Michael) Patton, Granger, IN, Vickie (Clarence) Barnes, Orange Park, FL, and Loretta (Jason) Russell, Federal Way, WA. Four Brothers, Robert Taylor Jr. and Michael Taylor of South Bend, IN, Zachary Taylor, Fort Wayne, IN, Tony (Wanda) Taylor, Raleigh, NC. Two Bonus Brothers, Zeb Gathright Jr., Indianapolis, IN and Jerry Gathright, South Bend, IN, who preceded him in death. Lee is also survived by his special friends, Pamela Jackson and her granddaughter, Rihana Boyce, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 24393 Fillmore Road, South Bend, IN 46619. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., immediately following visitation at the church. Private burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
The Repass will follow after the Funeral Service in the Basement of Bethlehem. Palmer Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628, is assisting the family with arrangements.
