May 26, 1959 – May 10, 2006

Monica (Stankus) Klopfenstein, 46, passed away at home in West Lafayette, Ind., on May 10, 2006, after an extended battle with colon cancer. Monica was born in South Bend, IN, in 1959, to Tom and Lavetta Stankus. She graduated from Washington High School in 1977 and attended Purdue University.

In 1979 she married David Klopfenstein and made their home in West Lafayette, Ind.

Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, reading and herbal health care.She also had a home- based alteration and dressmaking business. Monica was associated with the English Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses in West Lafayette, IN, and was active in the public ministry for 26 years. She loved the important things in life: to worship God, to nurture her family, to sing, to dance and to laugh.

Surviving are her husband, David;and five children, Heather (Philip) Wilkins of Indianapolis, Benjamin of Wallkill, N.Y., Sara-Jane, Martha and Mary at home. Her parents, Tom and Lavetta Stankus, also survive.

Services have been handled by Hippensteel Funeral Home of Lafayette, Ind
