William “Bill” Dudek

SOUTH BEND, IN -

William Alan “Bill” Dudek, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2020 in an automobile accident. Bill was born in South Bend, IN to Thaddeus and Audrey Dudek on September 18, 1959. Bill had attended St. Adalbert Grade School, Washington HS ('77), and IUSB. Bill worked in Sales/Marketing, which took him to many neighboring states. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor, being voted “Most Witty” by classmates.

Bill loved sports, playing baseball throughout school and in several local leagues. He also played golf, and especially enjoyed frisbee golf with his son, Derek. Bill was a loyal Notre Dame, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs fan. In addition, Bill was an avid morel mushroom hunter and spent many hours in Rum Village Park and others finding them.

Bill was a loyal and faithful friend, maintaining many lifelong friendships. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Theresa Borich of Indianapolis, Michael Dudek of South Bend, and Rosemary (Jeff) Pollard of Crossville, TN; his stepchildren, Shannon (Zach) Degeyter and Billy Nutting, Jr., two grandchildren, five nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces/nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father, mother, the love of his life, Sharon Dudek and their son, Derek.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pet Refuge of South Bend.
