Brian David Heckman, 57, formerly of South Bend, IN died unexpectedly at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. Brian was born in Fremont, OH to Terry Heckman and Susan Tittle Heckman Carter. Brian moved to Savannah, GA to start a new lease on life. Under the guidance and leadership of John Brown, Dr. Richard Calvin, The Fellowship House and Hope Ministries. Brian had his life back on track and had a passion for people and helping others. He was employed as a maintenance technician. He was a jack of many trades, gifted with his skills as a carpenter though crafting wood was his forte. The job he loved most was when he lived in North Caroline with his special uncle and aunt, Mark and Penny, working on the fishing boats for shrimp and crabs. He made sure he lived close to the ocean so he would have fresh seafood. Brian enjoyed music, country, rock n roll, R & B, Gospel, along with Blues and Jazz. His interest included fishing, cooking, NASCAR, basketball and football. Though betting on the games with his brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson made it even more interesting.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Terry G. Heckman of South Bend, IN and Susan R. Carter of Mishawaka, IN; son, Bryan C. Heckman of Denver, CO; two daughters, Jacqueline S. Heckman of South Bend, IN and Courtney R. (Chollana) Chhouy of Grinnell, IA and six grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Kayden, Jace, DaKota, Jade, Leah and Dominic. He is also survived by his siblings, Brent Heckman of Lakeville, IN, Teri Heckman of South Bend, IN and Traci (Dennis Johnson) Heckman of South Bend, IN; Aunt and Uncle, Gene & Fred Bliss and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
