Paula Kay Bahrke-Anderson

SOUTH BEND - Paula Kay “Taz” Bahrke-Anderson, 50, of South Bend passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 3rd with her husband by her side at The Center for Hospice after a hard fought battle with cancer.

She was born on November 18, 1965 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Everett C. and Margaret I. (Larson) Bahrke.

On September 17, 1994 in South Bend she married Jeff “Chopper” Anderson who survives. She is also survived by her fur kid, Brandi, two sisters, Candis Luchnenko of Fort Wayne, IN and Cheri Bahrke of Grand Junction, CO; two brothers, Ev (Vicki) Bahrke of Indianapolis, IN and Dean (Barbara) Bahrke of Fort Wayne, IN. Also surviving are many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Paula worked for 28 years at Sam's Club working her way up to the position of Accounting Lead. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at American Legion Post 284 of South Bend and the VFW Post 1954 of North Liberty and a Social Member at Army Navy Club.

She was an avid NASCAR fan. When she wasn't at the race she was watching it, always rooting for Dale, Jr. She enjoyed playing darts and cards, cooking, going camping and having garage parties. She was always there for everybody and will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but will always live in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at Ireland Rd/State Rd 23, South Bend. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 9th at the funeral home with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Riley Children's Hospital, 702 Barnhill Dr., Room 5900, Indianapolis, IN 46202 or Riverbend Cancer Services, 3516 East Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615.

The HANLEY & Sons Funeral Home handled arrangements, services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to Paula's family and friends.
