Genevieve T. (Kazmierczak) Andrysiak

Oct 26, 1922 - Oct 28, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Genevieve T. "Jean" Andrysiak, 87, a lifelong resident of South Bend was at peace with God at 7:30 am Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born October 26, 1922 in South Bend to the late Frances (Jankowiak) and Adalbert Kazmierczak.

On October 12, 1946 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Cajetan E. Andrysiak. He survives along with four children, Kathleen Rodosovich of The Woodlands, TX, Karen Mackowiak of Goshen, Janine Andrysiak (Greg Bennett) of Granger, and Kevin (Kimberly) Andrysiak of Fishers; six grandchildren, Daniel (Eva) Rodosovich of Houston, TX, Daynna Rodosovich of College Station, TX, Amber Rodosovich of The Woodlands, TX, Adam Mackowiak of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, Keith (Jessica) Mackowiak of Goshen, and Dominic of Fishers. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Dygulski, sister-in-law Rose Szymanski and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Radecki and Bernice Kazmierczak, and by four brothers, Tony, Mike, Ted, and Chet.

Jean attended Washington High School and was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the American Legion Post 357 Ladies Auxiliary for over sixty years, a member of the St. Adalbert Rosary Society, and past member of the West Side Democratic Club. In sixty three years of marriage, Jean was a wonderful wife and mother, always giving and caring. Even realizing she couldn't do as much as she wanted, she still offered to help in every way. Throughout her life she loved to feed the birds and they waited for her to bring out tiny cubes or carefully chopped leftovers. Even with snow and ice on the ground, she cleared a spot for them to eat. She is greatly loved by her family and her example of kindness will be remembered throughout their lives. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She was very proud that the church she belonged to all of her life was named after her father. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, cheered for them in sports and encouraged them in their professional lives. She will be missed.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm.
